Hannah Mooney was born in Ramelton, County Donegal in 1995. In 2014 she undertook her Art and Design Foundation Diploma at the University of Ulster and completed a BA in Painting and Printmaking at Glasgow School of Art in 2017. As a student, Mooney won several awards and since graduating, has had numerous successful solo exhibitions. She currently works in two distinct subjects; still life and the landscape and in both she is an instinctive, natural painter deeply concerned with the matière and traditional composition. Her work has been acquired for the James Nichol McBroom Archive, Hottinger Group, Fleming-Wyfold Collection and Royal Scottish Academy. She now lives and works as an artist in County Mayo.
