Matt Grogan was born in Dublin in 1947.
Having spent most of his working life in advertising Matt began painting in the mid eighties while living in Australia. As a member of the Wildlife Artists Society of Australia, he exhibited widely over the next decade , winning several awards. His return to Ireland 1997 prompted a change of career from advertising to painting and from wildlife to still life. Much of what Matt produces is informed by the works of Chardin and Vermeer modified by a continuing drift to impressionism. His work is represented in private collections in the US, Hong Kong, Australia Britain and Ireland.
Matt is represented in Dublin with The Trinity Gallery.
